Erin Shakespeare

Artist member since 2022
Vancouver, British Columbia

Born in North Vancouver, B.C., Erinโ€™s artwork has been greatly impacted by her love of nature, and time spent making up fairytales in the forest. She attended Simon Fraser University for 3 years, studying Visual Arts, where she developed a conceptual practice, followed by a 5 year interim spent developing her health and fitness career. This time spent in wellness deeply impacted her work by opening her up to a practice of self reflection, and themes from her own inner world often show up in her work today.

Why is it important for people to have art in their home or life?

We need to be reminded of beauty, human touch, and the richness of life.

As I child I quickly became enraptured with fairytales and stories. Creating art was a way to build my own realms, and processing the one I live in.
